Deborah Roberts
Deborah Roberts has covered her fair share of news stories. She began her network news career in 1990 with NBC news. During her time with NBC, Roberts reported from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during the aftermath of the Persian Gulf War and from the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. In 1995 she joined ABC’s 20/20. Since then she has served as a substitute anchor on World News Weekend and Good Morning America. Most recently she has reported on the emotional plight of African-Americans who journey to the sites where their ancestors were held captive as slaves. Roberts has also explored the devastation of alcohol abuse with baseball great Darryl Strawberry. Roberts currently resides in Manhattan with her husband, NBC weatherman Al Roker, and their children.
